Keynote:

Lessons Learned from the Station Nightclub Fire Investigation

On February 20, 2003, 462 unsuspecting nightclub patrons found themselves in the midst of the fourth-deadliest club fire in U.S. history at a roadhouse in West Warwick, Rhode Island, called “The Station.” The final death toll topped out, three months later, at the eerily unlikely round number of 100. John Barylick, attorney for the victims and author of Killer Show – The Station Nightclub Fire, America’s Deadliest Rock Concert, will tell the story of the fire, its causes, and its legal and human-tragedy aftermath. He’ll share lessons learned about how we can break the “chain of causation” and work together to prevent similar catastrophes.
